How a Wind Tunnel works.
Anything that tries to converge without first enlarging is limiting. Anything that enlarges without converging is therapy. Wind Tunneling does both, in sequence, with discipline.
Wind Tunneling is a structured divergence-then-convergence test. We don't take a defined problem and validate it. We take a felt pain and a set of hypotheses and deliberately enlarge the solution space before we narrow it.
Open the aperture
We challenge the framing you walked in with. Who else could the customer be. What else could they be buying. What adjacent problem might be the real one. We generate three to seven rival framings — each plausible enough to defend.
Apply pressure
Each framing runs through the same convergent evidence test — market signals, business model mechanics, competitive dynamics, technical feasibility, founder-fit. Framings that hold shape under pressure advance. Framings whose threads contradict each other get eliminated, explicitly, with reasoning.
Converge on the call
Two or three framings remain. One is usually load-bearing — where your assets, the market, and the business-model mechanics reinforce each other. The others are captured as adjacent bets. We make the Kill-Or-Build call. Explicitly. With reasoning.
